I've tried running SteamVR with the Oculus App open and closed with no change in it detecting the Rift. However the Oculus App shows everything is connected just fine. And if I create a System Report I can see that it detects the Oculus Rift through the USB ports but doesn't see it as a device for VR I guess. I don't get to see the little green icons on the SteamVR side like I should. I get a "Headset not detected" message consistently. SteamVR is installed and I've went through these motions but I don't see anything about configuring the Rift. If it shows green for your headset, sensors, and Touch controllers, then you should be good to go. It should also show the status of your devices if everything is already set up. You can click on that to start SteamVR, and there should be a menu (click SteamVR in the little window that pops up) where you can run the set-up to configure it for your Rift. If it is installed, you should see "VR" in the upper right corner of your Steam window. Go to Library/Tools in Steam, and you should be able to find SteamVR. You have to install SteamVR if you haven't done so. It happened to me (only once) that oculus home didn't save that setting for me. Point is, steamVR has to be installed AFTER oculus home install has finished (and unknown sources enabled).Īlso, when I first did this and didn't work, noticed that "unknown sources" was disabled while i clearly remember enabling it, so please do check that option again. When you see steamVR start screen, you`re good.Įdit: Steam installation doesn`t necessarily has to be second, of course. If you have everything installed, try uninstalling and reinstalling steamVR (leave everything else untouched). To me it only worked after reinstalling steamVR, seems some random issues occur when you install steamVR prior to oculus home. When you launch steam and steamVR, instead of the oculus room, you should see steamVR scene (grid room).Īlso, just in case, did you install Home first or SteamVR? When you load oculus home, you should see oculus home in headset. To make sure, first you need to start Oculus Home, then Steam, then steamVR and finally the app itself.
